filefix — Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 5, 2026.
filefix is operated by MCKE Enterprises Worldwide LLC, an Illinois limited liability company ("we," "us"). We built filefix to do one job — repair your file — and to know as little about you and your file as possible while doing it. This policy explains what that means in practice.
1. What we collect
- The file you upload, and the repaired output we produce from it. We use these only to perform the repair you requested.
- Basic operational data needed to run and secure the service: timestamps, file type and size, error and diagnostic logs, IP address, and technical request metadata.
- Contact details, only if you provide them (for example, an email address for your download link or a support request).
- Payment information is collected and processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
We do not require you to tell us what your file contains, and by default we don't look.
2. No human view, by default
By default, no human opens or watches the contents of your file. Repair runs through automated processing designed to fix the file's structure without anyone viewing what is inside it.
The narrow exceptions: (a) you explicitly ask us to look (for example, to debug a failed repair), or (b) we are required to act on actual knowledge of illegal content, as described in the Acceptable use section.
3. How long we keep files
- Uploaded originals are deleted as soon as repair processing completes.
- Repaired files stay available to re-download for 48 hours, then are automatically deleted.
- Operational logs and metadata (Section 1) may be retained longer for security and service operation, but they never include the contents of your file.
4. No tracking, no selling, no training
- We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies on filefix.io.
- We do not sell your files, your file contents, or your personal data.
- We do not use your files to train AI models or to build any product other than the repair you asked for.
5. Service providers
We share data only with the providers that run the service, each bound to protect it, and only as needed:
- Hetzner — secure server hosting (Ashburn, Virginia, USA), where files are processed and stored
- Cloudflare — network security, DNS, and bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs a lightweight automated check when you upload to confirm you are not a bot); we may also use Cloudflare R2 (US) for temporary file storage
- Stripe — payment processing
- Google Workspace — support email (hello@filefix.io)
- Resend — transactional email delivery (your download link), when email delivery is enabled
We may also disclose information where required by law, as described in the Acceptable use section.
6. Children
filefix is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has used the service, contact us and we will delete the associated data.
7. Your choices and rights
- Keep your own copy of every original file — repair is best-effort and deletion is automatic and permanent.
- To ask what data we hold about you, or to request deletion of your personal data, email hello@filefix.io; we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, which we will honor as required.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the updated version with a new effective date; material changes will be noted on this page.
