Repair a corrupt RAR file.
Upload a RAR5 archive that won't open or extract. FileFix recovers the files that still match their stored checksums and shows a free list of them before you decide. A RAR comes back as a ZIP of the recovered files, which opens without WinRAR. Not every damaged RAR can be recovered; the free summary shows which files came back before you pay.

We couldn't recover this one.
The file is too damaged to rebuild, so there is nothing to preview and no charge.

Try a deep repair
The repair engine can try a longer pass on the file you already uploaded.
Machine-only processing; no human views files; nothing is sent to an outside AI.
Have another clip from the same device?
A healthy video recorded on the same device — ideally the same settings — gives the repair engine a template to rebuild from. It can unlock repairs that fail on their own.
Unrepaired files are kept encrypted for up to 30 days, then deleted.
FileFix can't fix that kind of file yet.
Right now we repair video, audio, document, and image files (MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, AVI, TS, MTS, M2TS, MPG, MPEG, VOB, 3GP, WebM, FLV, M4A, WAV, MP3, AAC, FLAC, OGG, OPUS, AIFF, XLSX, DOCX, PPTX, ODT, ZIP, RAR, PDF, AI, HEIC, and HEIF). We're adding support for more formats over time.

Why this happens
A corrupt RAR file usually has one of two problems: it was cut short, so the last files and the end record are missing, or bytes inside it changed, so a header or a file no longer matches its checksum. WinRAR stops at the first problem it meets.
FileFix works from the bytes you upload. It extracts each file it can reach, checks it against its checksum where the RAR still carries one, and places the files that extract cleanly and pass into a new ZIP. The free summary lists the recovered files and names the ones that were not recovered.
Only RAR5 archives are supported. RAR 4 archives, encrypted archives and missing volumes of a multi-part archive are outside what the repair can do, and a RAR 4 upload is refused before anything is charged.
What we can and can't recover
We can usually fix
- RAR5 archives that show "unexpected end of archive"
- RAR5 archives WinRAR calls corrupt
- RAR archives cut off during a download or copy
We can't fix
- RAR 4 archives (made by WinRAR 4 and older)
- Encrypted or password-protected archives
- Multi-part archives missing their other volumes
- Genuinely empty (0-byte) files
How it works
-
Upload Drop the file in. It uploads over an encrypted connection. The repair runs automatically — no person looks at your file.
-
Free watermarked preview You see exactly what we recovered — the list of files recovered from the archive.
-
Pay & download If the summary shows what you need, unlock the repaired ZIP archive from $5 USD.

Questions
A ZIP archive holding the files it recovered from your RAR. It opens on any computer without WinRAR. Files it could not recover are named as not recovered in the summary.
RAR5, the format WinRAR 5 and later write by default. Older RAR 4 archives are refused at upload, before anything is charged.
A file is recovered when it extracts cleanly. Where the RAR still carries that file's checksum, FileFix also checks the extracted bytes against it; a file that fails the check is left out of the ZIP and named as not recovered.
No. The engine does not decrypt archive contents or bypass passwords.
