Failure-mode explanation
WAV is the format professional recorders, DAWs, and field recorders write when they want uncompressed sound. Most "corrupted WAV" problems are structural: the header that declares the sample rate, channel count, and data length got damaged or was never finalized — which is exactly what happens when a recorder loses power or an app crashes mid-take, so the file is left without a proper end.
When the header is wrong or the length was never written, a player refuses the file or reads it as noise — even though the raw audio samples are usually still there. FileFix reads the actual sample data, rebuilds a correct WAV header around it, and produces a file your player can open. You hear a free watermarked preview clip and see how much we recovered before paying.
This works for the large majority of header, length, and sample-rate problems. It can't recover audio that was never written to disk.
