Why Bandicam MP4s stop working

Bandicam records to an MP4 (or AVI) and writes the footage continuously, but the small index a player needs to open the file is only written when the recording is stopped normally.

A crash, a freeze, a full disk, or closing Bandicam before pressing stop all skip that final step. The footage is written; the index isn't; the file won't open. Bandicam ships a repair tool of its own, but it only handles its AVI output — for the MP4 files most people record today, that tool can't help, which is why these end up unfixed.

The footage is usually intact, so this is often recoverable. FileFix reads what Bandicam wrote, rebuilds a valid index, and produces a normal, playable file — and shows you exactly how much was recovered in a free preview before you pay.

The one case we can't fix: a 0-byte or empty file, where Bandicam stopped before any footage reached the disk. We'll say so plainly and you won't be charged.
