Why ARF and WRF files won't open in a normal player
Webex saves cloud/network recordings as .arf and GoToMeeting saves as .wrf. These aren't standard video files — they're proprietary containers that hold the meeting in the vendor's own format. VLC, QuickTime, and Windows Media Player simply don't understand them, which is why a perfectly healthy ARF or WRF still "won't play."
So the first thing to know is that most ARF/WRF "won't play" cases aren't corruption at all — the file is fine, you just need the right tool. The free fix is the vendor's own player/converter: Webex's Network Recording Player (or the ARF-to-MP4 converter in the Webex site) turns .arf into MP4, and GoToMeeting's recording manager converts .wrf. We'd always rather you convert it for free than pay us for a file that isn't actually broken.
The case where FileFix can help is a genuinely damaged recording: the download was interrupted, the file is truncated, or the vendor's converter itself errors out or produces an MP4 that won't play. Once you've converted an ARF/WRF to MP4 and that MP4 is broken, that's ordinary video corruption — and rebuilding a playable MP4 from a truncated one is exactly what we do.
