Why a Google Meet recording won't play
Unlike a screen recorder that writes a file on your computer, Google Meet records on Google's servers and drops the finished video into the organizer's Google Drive. Because of that, most "won't play" problems have nothing to do with a damaged file.
The three common causes, none of which we can fix, are: the recording is still processing (it can take from minutes to hours after the meeting before it plays); you don't have permission to view it (it's owned by the organizer and needs to be shared); or Drive's in-browser player is having a temporary issue. The free fixes are to wait, ask the organizer to share it, or download it and play it locally. We'd never charge you for any of that.
The narrow case where FileFix can help: you downloaded the MP4 from Drive and the download itself was interrupted, leaving a truncated file that won't open. That's ordinary video corruption — the footage is partly there but the file is missing the end and its index.

Probably not. Recordings can take a while to appear and finish processing after a meeting ends. That's a waiting problem, not a corruption one, and there's nothing to repair — give it time before assuming the worst.
