Why this happens
A .docx document holds text, formatting, and pictures in separate parts of the same file. Damage to one part, or a save that stops too soon, can prevent Word from opening the whole document.
FileFix looks for text that is still readable and uses it to build a new .docx document. We check that the rebuilt file opens before showing you a preview.
The rebuilt file prioritizes readable body text. The preview shows only content present in the rebuilt document; it does not guarantee that missing source content, formatting, comments, tracked changes, headers, images, or other document features were recovered.
