Repair a corrupted AIFF or AIF file.
In our damaged AIFF test set, FileFix fully repaired 18 of 24 files and recovered part of the audio from the other 6, all of them cut off at the end. Upload the .aif or .aiff file that won't open and hear a free preview before you decide to pay.

We couldn't recover this one.
The file is too damaged to rebuild, so there is nothing to preview and no charge.
What stopped you continuing? One tap tells us why.
Try a deep repair
The repair engine can try a longer pass on the file you already uploaded.
Machine-only processing; no human views files; nothing is sent to an outside AI.
Have another clip from the same device?
A healthy video recorded on the same device — ideally the same settings — gives the repair engine a template to rebuild from. It can unlock repairs that fail on their own.
Unrepaired files are kept encrypted for up to 30 days, then deleted.
FileFix can't fix that kind of file yet.
Right now we repair video, audio, document, and image files (MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, AVI, TS, MTS, M2TS, MPG, MPEG, VOB, 3GP, WebM, FLV, M4A, WAV, MP3, AAC, FLAC, OGG, OPUS, AIFF, XLSX, DOCX, PPTX, ODT, ZIP, RAR, PDF, AI, HEIC, and HEIF). We're adding support for more formats over time.

Why AIFF files stop opening
AIFF and AIFF-C files (.aif, .aiff) hold uncompressed audio from Logic, GarageBand, Pro Tools and many field recorders. The samples sit in an SSND chunk; a COMM chunk tells the player how many channels there are and how to read them.
A crash during a save, an interrupted copy or an export that stopped partway can leave a header that no longer matches the audio: a zero channel count, a data offset past the end, or a file cut short. The samples can still be there when the player refuses the file.
FileFix rebuilds the header from the audio that is present and only offers checkout when it produces a playable result. Audio that was never written to the file cannot be recreated.
What we can and can't fix
We can usually fix
- Audio files that won't open or play after an interrupted save or transfer.
We can't fix
- Genuinely empty files, deleted files, or DRM-protected tracks from a music store. More →

Questions
Yes. Both extensions are the same Audio Interchange File Format, and AIFF-C files are accepted too. Upload the file with whichever extension it has.
An AIFF file describes its audio in a COMM chunk (channels, sample rate, sample size) and stores the samples in an SSND chunk. A wrong channel count, a bad data offset or a cut-off end can stop an editor or player from reading samples that are still in the file.
The audio before the cut can often be recovered, but samples missing from the end cannot be recreated. The free preview shows what came back.
A one-time $8 USD — and only if the repair works. Seeing what was recovered is free, and checkout is only offered when the engine produces a validated repaired file.
